Dushkin, William Sr. - U.S. Army

Sand Point, Alaska

William Dushkin, Sr., E-4 Cpl, was born in Belkofski, Alaska, his parents were Nick A. and Olga (Hansen) Dushkin, he married Marilyn Smith.  William attended highschool at Mt. Edgecumbe and Kodiak, Alaska.

He joined the U.S. Army Sept 1969, he was stationed at Ft. Ord, California for training before doing a 14 month tour of duty in Vietnam. William was released May 1971, he was classified reserve active for four more years.  

William is a lifelong commercial fisherman in the Shumagin and Aleutian Islands.  He owned and captained the fishing vessels Andronica, Aleut Viking and Bobbi Dee.  He is a board director for Eastern Aleutian Tribes and Sanak Corporation as well as president of the Pauloff Harbor Tribe.  He was president of the Shumagin Corporation for six years. 

Status: commercial fisherman, Going Strong.
