Endresen, Andrew - U.S. Army

Andrew Endresen, Sgt., was born 26 Feb 1923, his parents were Edward and Annie (Smith) Endresen, he married Emily Rodgers.  

Andrew joined the U.S. Army 6 Dec 1943, he served in the Aleutian Islands during World War II in the Alaska Transport Service Maintenance Platoon.  One of his assignments was on Adak Island, Alaska.  He was a ship carpenter.

Andrew was a commercial fisherman in the Chignik area east of Kupreanof Point, AK. He build several fishing vessels for others and for his own use.  His boats were: Melody, Harmony, Symphony, Tempest, Freedom and Provider.  His first boat Melody was lost in the 1964 Alaska earthquake, the Freedom was his favorite boat.
