Lindquist, Michael - U.S. Army

Michael J. Lindquist, Sgt., was born 4 Jul 1920, he was the grandson of August and Maggie Lindquist.  He married Olive Rose Krone.

Michael joined the U.S Army, 11 Nov 1942, and served in World War II.  His Army branch was Quartermaster Corps, a combat service support branch of the Army responsible for procuring and delivering supplies to units in all theaters.  

The Unga High School Newlsetter, The Alaska Pen, 31 Oct 1943, reports “Sgt. Mike Lindquist made a surprise visit home on Oct 24th.  Mickey enlisted in the Army about a year ago.  He wears sergeant stripes and is assigned  to 924th Boat Co. (AVN).” 

MIchael was a commerical fisherman in the Shumagin Islands.
