Mack, Dennis - U.S. Air Force 

King Cove, Alaska

Dennis P. Mack, MSgt., is from King Cove, his parents were Carl Sr. and Nida (Wilson) Mack.  He married Penny-Jo Wight.  Dennis lived in King Cove and Kodiak, Alaska, before moving to Bellingham, WA, where he attended high school.  He returned to King Cove to fish commercially for salmon during the summers before joining the US Air Force.

Dennis joined the USAF Jan 1974, his boot camp was at Lackland AFB, TX, his military stations were, Grand Forks AFB, ND; Elmendorf AFB, AK; McChord AFB, WA; Gila Bend AF Auxiliary Field, AZ; and Tyndall AFB, FL.  

Beside the assigned stations listed, Dennis also did short duty at Howard AFB located six miles west of Balboa, at the southern Pacific end of the Panama Canal, and at Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.  In his last ten years before retirement, Dennis was a recruiter at McChord AF Base in Tacoma, WA.  He occasionally traveling to Anchorage and Fairbanks, AK, to motivate qualified individuals to join the Air Force.  Dennis retired out of the Eight Flying Squadron, he was discharged Jan 1996 after 22 years of service.
