Louis Berntsen, Jr., Pvt., was born to Louis Sr. and Laura (Torgramsen) Berntsen. He married Jennie Lee Johansen.
Louis joined the U.S. Army in 1953, he served for two years at Ft. Richardson, Alaska, he was discharged in 1954.
Louis was a lifelong commercial fisherman in the Shumagin and Aleutian Islands and the Bering Sea. He was the owner of and he captained the fishing vessels: Memories, Mary Jane, Kita, Advancer, Destination, Celtic, Defender, and Breaker.
