Harry R. Foster, Cpl., was born 15 Jun 1916, his parents were John and Cecelia (Isberg) Foster, his wife was Rose “Dolly” Boye.  

Harry joined the U.S Army 6 Dec 1943, he was stationed in the Aleutian Islands during World War II serving in the Harbor Craft Transport Service.  He was discharged in 1945.

Harry was a lifelong commerical fisherman, he was the owner and captain of fishing vessels Southland and Tradewind.  He fished for Salmon and King Crab in the Shumagin Islands, also near the mainland of Kupreanof Peninsula and to the westward Aleutian Peninsula.  He was the winter watchman for Pacific American Fisheries in Baralof Bay, Unga Island, Alaska.
