Johnson, William - U.S. Navy

Nelson Lagoon, Alaska

William Johnson, OS, lived in Nelson Lagoon until he was 10 years old and then moved to Sand Point, Alaska.  His parents were Bill and Julia Johnson.  

Bill, as he is known, joined the U.S Navy Nov 1979, he did boot camp in San Diego, California.  He was  stationed for two years in Naples Italy and then stationed on the USS California out of Naval Station Norfork, VA, until his release from service in 1983.  He was an operations specialist.

Bill was a lifelong commercial fisherman on the northside Aleutian Peninsula near Port Moller and in the southside Aleutian Peninsula Area M.  He owned the fishing vessel, Leona J. 

Status:  still involved in the fishing industry, Going Strong
